AEROGEL APPLICATIONS BY INDUSTRY

Based on application, the aerogel market has been segmented into Oil & Gas, Built Environment, Transportation (aerospace, automotive, and marine), Performance Coating, Day-Lighting & LVHS (Low Volume High Specialization), and others including pharmaceuticals, industrial & cryogenics, consumer appliances, personal care, clothing & outdoor gears, and research activities.

Reduced thickness and superior thermal resistance of aerogel materials show huge potential for growth in the oil & gas applications where heat insulation is of prime importance. At a similar rate, the built environment is demanding for superinsulation solutions whilst aviation is ever-more pushing towards green engines, thereby making silica aerogel even more relevant.

Our current projects and solutions mainly revolve around insulation, whether heat, sound or flame, although we are continuously exploring other areas. Some of them have been shared to encourage the society toward adopting the aerogel technology, thereby energizing sustainability.
